Tonight on Newsagents USA, we're joined by a special prosecutor from Watergate.

He's going to talk us through whether Donald Trump could be kicked off the ballot on grounds

of treason.

Well, there are a couple of ways it could be done.

Interestingly, in a number of states, there are statutes that allow voters in the state

to challenge the appearance on the ballot of a candidate who is considered ineligible

for office.

Now, conventionally, that means the person hasn't lived in the jurisdiction long enough

or hasn't been properly nominated or hasn't received enough petition signatures to get

on a ballot.

And so there are mechanisms that allow a citizen to say, this person who is nominally on the

ballot is not really eligible to participate as a candidate in the election.

That is one mechanism that could be used.

Indeed, there are a couple of lawsuits pending as we speak in a couple of states where voters

are trying to do that.

And we're going to be asking whether the Republicans are about to launch an impeachment inquiry

into President Joe Biden.
